Feb. 22, 2007 - Dig Deep, and You'll Find More Than Bones
Last week, members of the creative team met to hammer out the muddy details regarding our characters and the world in which they live. We've been trying to flesh out weapon and magic concepts especially, and have come up as many answers as obstacles. To remedy this, we've decided old-fashioned voting is the way to go, and will eventually have our consensus-based results on this website. Big thanks go to Ryan for coordinating the email effort.
Special effects and audio work continues on the RoA trailer. We've also looked at some preliminary After Effects work for the Bok Bok logo—yes, it's animated!—and are hoping to have a finalized version by the end of this month.
Otherwise it's been a relaxed week. Shorty's finished job descriptions for the Audio and Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) branches, and Ryan will now be working with Lisa Grossman on the BTS. We're also considering hiring a web/graphic artist to help us with the never-ending job of keeping our outward appearance both professional and pretty. Sometimes the demands of making a movie make it hard to keep your socks matched. Or clean.
Feb. 14, 2007 - I'll Take the Combo Meal with Extra Ranch Dressing, Please
The Tribe has been extremely industrious since our last entry, which might explain why it's taken us two weeks to produce another one. Most exciting so far has been the addition of Dameun Strange to our staff as the Marketing Manager. Dameun has agreed to help raise funding and has begun securing venues at which we can show The Dragon Fell. He's also been busy staffing the merchandising department of his branch. We're very happy to have you with us, Dameun, and don't worry—the craziness you've encountered thus far will get worse before you come to understand it.
Sponsorship ads for our local business partners have either been completed or are in the works. We'll be adding them, along with the revamped edition of The Dragon Fell (with brand new audio!) and the RoA trailer, to our traveling portfolio. And speaking of the trailer, the production audio has just been submitted to Will, so we're hoping to see its completion by the end of the month. Though we're a little behind schedule with this, we promise you it will be worth the wait!
Watch for the new RoA logo to appear on this site soon. We're still polishing the Bok Bok logo, but once that's finished you'll get to see it—along with the completed RoA movie poster—here as well. Dazey, Jim, and Shorty have been continuing to tweak The Dragon Fell DVD label and cover. We're thankful for everyone's hard work on this, but Dazey especially gets dillions of hundos for his painstaking font-creation efforts. The new version is much more polished and visually appealing than the old, and we feel it will make an impressive first impression on our audience and potential sponsors.
Dazey also continues to expand the Chimera Tribe universe with his cartography. The creative team will be meeting this week to review that new map and uncover more secrets about our characters' pasts. Eventually we will be posting those character biographies, but as many of them are still being hashed out haven't quite accomplished that yet.
And finally, the Tribe would like to bid a farewell of sorts to Jorge Sosa, our webmaster and media relations expert extraordinaire. Jorge needs to focus attention elsewhere for a while but will still be an auxiliary leg of the Chimera. We wish him luck and a great deal of gratitude for rolling with the chaos! We haven't yet officially hired anyone in his stead, but for now we'll abuse the ever-flexible Jeff Thompson, who by no means will use this website to further his personal schemes.
