Jan. 31, 2007 - The Katamari Damacy of Chimera Tribe
Momentum is building as we accumulate more beastly resources. The teaser trailer has been finished (sorry Mari), and it's now up to Will to produce the sound score. Soon—and by soon we mean mid-February—we will have a tasty preview for all of you who've been waiting so patiently! We've also started considering musicians to assist Will with his workload.
We continue to move along with the growth of the Marketing Department. Already we've chosen some potential staff members and have drawn up a hit list of businesses to target. As sponsorship has been thin lately, we're focusing on this strategy to create alternate forms of revenue. Either that, or else Josh had better pony up some of that ancient Chinese gold he's got squirreled away in his studio...
Shorty and Jim have been slaving away with The Dragon Fell DVD work, and the final versions will be voted on by February 1. We'll try to get some scans of the new cover posted here for you to admire. Also, the RoA movie poster is almost completed. Expect a preview of it here as well.
Jeff, Ryan, and Dazey have been doing some interesting forays into the world layout of Chimera Tribe. Place locations from the original script are being oriented in relation to one another, and there is a world map in the works! This is a really exciting development.
Jan. 23, 2007 - The Bok Bok AV Club
First of all, welcome to the most aurally endowed member of our Tribe: we've hired Will Charlton as the Audio Branch Manager! In addition to helping cement the delicious marriage between audio and video, he'll be overseeing operations of our newest department. Will's first project is the completion of a sound score for the upcoming RoA trailer. This guy was a part of the original production sound crew, and we're really excited to see what he can produce in the coming months.
Speaking of the trailer, Perfect Robb will have the final edit finished before the end of this week. If he doesn't, we are going to be very cross with him. We know Mari is always game for dispensing a little disciplinary action.
Last week's post-production meeting yielded some promising results. Logos have been chosen for The Dragon Fell and Chimera Tribe, and RoA and Bok Bok Productions logos are in the works. The RoA teaser poster is very close to being finished, and we hope to post a preview of the final version on this site. Also, The Dragon Fell DVD cover is undergoing a face lift courtesy of Jim and Shorty. We hear she's merciless with a scalpel.
Our dearest Robb will be creating a slide show for the RoA DVD using production stills he's selected from photographer Drayke Larson's impressive collection. Drayke paid us the great courtesy of driving all over the state to photograph the insanity that was last fall's RoA shoot.
We've decided to go ahead with organizing a Marketing Department to take some of the workload off the producers' shoulders. More details will be posted as they become available.
Finally, the creative team kneaded out some major character kinks when they met last Friday. Covert intelligence has yielded some distinctive information about Lotus, Arez, and their minions which will undoubtedly be of great use to us in the future. And though the Old Merchant still doesn't have a name, we now know his modus operandi and will be posting it-along with all the other character biographies-on the Legend page of this site.
Jan. 14, 2007 - Back on track
We've finally recovered from the holidays and Bobbica Honana, so post-production for RoA is back on track. The producers and administrative staff met last Thursday to evaluate our current progress and to determine the direction this project will be taking in the near future. So far, the short film Chimera Tribe: The Dragon Fell continues to be the spearhead of our marketing effort, and we'll post sponsor and showing information as it becomes available. We're also looking to complete a RoA trailer sometime within the next month and hope to have it posted on this website for all to see.
Mass production of the full-color Chimera Tribe prequel comic will become a reality as soon as we secure more funding. For those of you who just can't wait, a black-and-white version is available for download free on the Gifts page of this website. Development is also continuing on the RoA movie poster. The draft versions have been looking fantastic, so be sure to check here frequently for updates and purchase information.
We'll be injecting some fresh blood into our beast with the hiring of additional post-production staff. Position details will be posted on this website once the job descriptions are completed.
As with the rest of the project, this blog continues to evolve. Our goal is to provide weekly updates on all things RoA for staff members and fans alike. We'll also be including contributions from guest writers on a semi-regular basis. If you have any questions or suggestions, please email Danya or Jeff.
Jan. 1, 2007 - The Bobbiclaws Cometh
Dear Bobbiclaws,
Thank you for bestowing upon us a proliferbundance of luck, good company, and hundos on the night of December 30, 2006. Many dillions were lost and many friendships were tested in adulation of your hallowed name. Beneath the all-knowing gaze of your avatar the Great Brad Pitt, a giant pile of gifts was amassed, and no doubt you were pleased.
The touch of your spindly claws was felt directing the play of every card in X-Men Uno. Every defeated sob let loose by Jeff's fallen Bushido Blade opponents was truly for your ear pits only. Our renditions of scenes from Pulp Fiction and Top Gun were in celebration of your boundless glory. When yet another leg was sacrificed in the Native American Leg Wrestling tournaments, you were there, grinning silently with that vorpal gleam in your eyes. When we were blessed with merciless combat during the final auction, we knew it was because Perfect Robb had sacrificed his vocal cords to you during the Battle of PervArtistry. All hail the illustrious Dick 4's! (Vengeance will be yours next year, Chili Cheese Dicks.)
Thank you for watching over those who ventured drunkenly into the hot tub at the end of the night. Many intrepid deeds and stories of honor were regaled by those brave souls.
We thank you, Bobbiclaws, for bringing unto us once again a great and glorious celebration. When we don our traditional Bobbica Honana t-shirts, it will be with joyous reverence. Your generosity and benevolence will truly be a shining light for us in the new year.
