Mar. 28, 2007 - Build up!

With the coming of spring, our tribe has devoted its attention to cleaning up loose ends and preparing for the blossoming to come. We are about ready to release both the trailer and the poster to the world, but have encountered some major website design snags that need to be remedied before we can post anything new here. Jeff and Jon have been diligently attacking the problem in preparation for a complete site restructure. We give many bows and great bundles of hundos to the both of them and the awesome Jesse Ross for undertaking this annoying (but completely worthwhile) job.

Jim and Josh have been working on fund raising strategies and general project planning this month. It is unclear at this point where you'll be able to see a screening of The Dragon Fell in all its brand-new glory; however, as things sit right now we still plan to partner with local comic book shops and similarly-oriented businesses in an effort to bring our Chimera into the world. On that note, Dazey and Jim have made the Chimera Tribe comic even better with the application of some needed touch-ups.

We'll soon have Bok Bok business cards, thanks to the collaborative art and design efforts of Dazey and Robb. Think of the professionalism! *gasp*

Mar. 8, 2007 - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Chimera

So many cool things are happening this week! Jim had the pleasure of meeting guitarists Julien and Pat from the band A Word to Bring Ruin. Their music will be featured in the upcoming trailer, and from what we've heard so far, it's going to fit in well with existing video. Special effects work for the in-trailer text has been completed as well.

We've finished the fully animated Bok Bok logo, complete with more bells and whistles than we could ever have hoped for. Fully expect it to be plastered all over this website once we get some technical kinks worked out. And on the media development front, Shorty, Dazey, and Jim have given green light status to the final manifestation of The Dragon Fell DVD label.

Ryan got some solid results from last week's story vote. We now have a name for the umbrella group to which Lotus and Arez belong, and the personage previously known The Old Merchant will henceforth be called Caelum. Ever the bustling coordinator, Ryan has put out a new request for clarification of previous story ideas. Places, spells, tribal groups—names, names, they all need names!

We've welcomed a new web designer into the fold. Jon Julsrud has done previous work for businesses in our area, and we're happy he's willing to contribute his time and talent to our cause. Expect more clicky buttons and pretty things to ogle in the coming weeks.

Finally, this week's unofficial Smoke and Mirrors Award goes to Brendan Eddy, whose skill has enabled us to make squirrels do back flips and titles sparkle. Thank you for being there from the beginning.

Mar. 2, 2007 - Weathering the Storm

Despite the mountains of snow outside, our Tribe continues to plod steadily through the storms. Our search for a website designer has led us to a few possible candidates, but we have a ways to go in terms of decision-making. Though we don't yet know if the site's appearance and navigation will change drastically, we'll be sure to alert you to any significant alterations. Our hope is for a smooth transition on all fronts.

Ryan has put out the first “ballot” for RoA story/name ideas and is waiting for the final responses to arrive before he tabulates and produces the results. Again, continue to look to our Legend page for character bios, story backgrounds, and more fantastic facts about the people, places, and mysteries of the world of Chimera.

The final draft of the trailer is almost completed. Additional audio/video revisions are being considered as of this time, so expect it here soon. And by soon we mean hopefully within a couple weeks.

Bear with us, Chimera fans...making a movie with no secure sources of funding can be more than challenging at times, but we remain optimistic as always!
